Lolita challenge 9: 10 things you will never do in lolita.

This challenge was actually a little bit hard for me to write because I had to really think about things that I really wouldn't do in lolita rather than the obvious ones (and I ended up writing a lot of them down anyway orz;;) but I hope you enjoy reading and leave comments with things you wouldn't do either !!
1. I remember a little beginner Alanah googling lolita and stumbling upon the best website in the world - Milanoo. Thank god I didn't buy anything from that website, although maybe now I would own the most beautiful lace monster on the planet. Buying from there is definitely right up there with things I wouldn't do in lolita.
Look at these, now imagine them ten times worse because Milanoo don't know how to sew
2. No matter what brand, what style or how much I liked the print or the dress I would never wear the colour orange. I actually have a really silly phobia of the colour which started with nightmares where I was drowning in orange juice and getting chased by orange monsters. Now all my friends tease me because of it, but it's seriously the worst colour ever.

3. I would never exclude or shame another lolita because of their substyle, choice of brand, offbrand or replica, or "experience" in lolita. Within our community we have such a mix of styles and it's great to see everybody accepting people for what kind of lolita they are or want to be. I will always want to be helpful to new lolitas, and I'm totally up for giving different styles a go. This whole replica vs. brand vs. offbrand debate is also a load of poo, and I think everybody should be able to express themselves through their choice of fashion freely !!

4. As much as I love the fashion - I would never get married in lolita. I really want a simple wedding and would love a more traditional and elegant wedding dress as something special, rather than wearing something that I wear everyday.

5. Join an eating contest of some kind because I'm already a messy eater. I don't think lolita and stuffing your face go hand in hand. In fact, lets just include food fights too and the fact that I need to line myself with napkins before eating otherwise it gets everywhere (maybe I should get one of those Baby the Stars Shine Bright raincoats to put on instead of being a napkin lady). Oh god imagine accidentally wiping Doritos on your dress I think I'm going to cry.

6. Have you ever tried to wear rocking horse shoes while driving a car? Mannn, it's hard enough to drive with shoes on for me as it is let alone have big ass platforms get in between me and the pedals. That's an accident waiting to happen.
Some of the ribbon rocking horse shoes you can get from Antaina
7. Play any kind of sports that involve dirt, physical activity or water. Actually, just anything that involves getting dirty or sweaty because nooooo. I've always hated sport to being with but imagining trying to do it in lolita makes me cringe. Although.... if they made cute frilly swimwear with lolita prints maybe I would consider the beach.

8. As much as I love Angelic Pretty, sometimes I'm just like "oh god why... why would you do that!?" when they bring out prints that have super childish or baby like motifs (let me just remind you all of that "Dreamy Baby Room" monstrosity"). Some people can definitely pull it off, but I don't think I could ever bring myself to wear them.

9. I don't think I could ever go out in lolita without wearing makeup. I think it's more of a personal choice and self conscious thing but I feel it completes the look. I especially love more dramatic eye make up and false eyelashes when wearing lolita because your eyes seem to just stand out that little bit more.

10. I would never be able to go petticoat-less to something (again these god damn things are the bane of my existence and have popped up in every single lolita challenge entry arghhhhh !!). I think petticoats really do complete the lolita silhouette, but depending on the dress you need different shaped and sized ones to flatter the cut of it so it sits right.

Lolita challenge 8: 10 songs that inspire you for lolita!

Okayyyy, so basically these songs are inspirational to me because they're regulars on my play list when I'm getting ready in lolita. These are in no particular order, but they're all definitely some of my favourite songs and I definitely would like to list more than one song from each artist, but I'm going to try and just keep it to one each n____n !!

1. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu - Invader Invader
2. Iggy Azalea - Work
3. Die Antwoord - Baby's on Fire
4. 2NE1 - I Am the Best
5. Lana Del Rey - Off to the Races
6. Nicki Minaj - Roman's Revenge
7. Brooke Candy - Das Me
8. M.I.A. - Bad Girls
9. Gesaffelstein - Persuit
10. G-Dragon - Crayon

There is definitely kind of a trend in female singers and rappers because I think they are badasssssss, and many of these songs have definitely got nothing to do with lolita but I love singing along with them (especially when I'm driving as well) !!
What are some of your favourite songs to get ready to or drive around to?

Lolita challenge 7: People who inspire your lolita style.

I'm am so sorry for such a late post. I haven't been very well the past few weeks and so haven't been able to blog, but this does mean I have a lot of things lined up ^^!
This question of this lolita challenge was to list people that inspire my lolita style. I couldn't pick only ten so here are are two lists of people with links to their blogs, instagrams or websites. If you are listed here and do not wish to be please let me know so I can politely delete you (but still know that you have bangin' style!)

 Lolitas

There is definitely a re-occuring sweets theme with brown, pink and cream bases - but the reason there is such a mix here is because I love how each girl pulls off their own individual style and interpretation of the dresses so well. I definitely look up to these for inspirations all the time because they're all flawlessly executed and beautiful, and hope to be able to coordinate as well as them !!

Models, idols and famous faces

Kyary Pamyu Pamyu
I'm a big fan of the Harajuku fashion scene ranging from lolita through to fairy kei and alternative fashions. These are some of my biggest idols that I try to channel not only when wearing lolita, but for everyday wear too. These girls are so amazing.

Lolita challenge 6: 10 things you can’t live without in lolita!

I know, I know I skipped number 5 - but I am always posting wishlists so it was a waste of timeeeee. This time I have to post about ten things I can't live without in lolita, so here we goooooo. Trying to think of these things was kinda weird really - like obviously you can live without these things because it's not a life necessity but it's definitely a hobby I enjoy to the point of revolving my life around it.
1. The colour pink is not just a thing I can't live without in lolita, I can't live without it in my life at all - it's the best colour to ever exist and I get annoyed when I find something that doesn't come in pink. WHY WOULD YOU NOT MAKE IT IN PINK!?

2. Internet mannn. No internet means no shopping, no communication with other lolitas, no blogging, no stalking pretty people, no nothing. I actually think I would be bored out of my brain if I didn't have it - or worse outside playing some kind of sport and being active *screaming* *A*;; !!

3. I wouldn't be able to do anything without my job giving me sweet sweet cash moneys. Money is essential in any hobby and I definitely do not mind spending it on the pretty things I find!

Burando money from a lolita monopoly game !!

4. Shopping services are the best thing to ever happen to lolita and I really don't know how I would live without them for auction sites and taobao especially. I rely on them so heavily for a lot of lolita things that don't ship overseas (which is nearly all of it, waaaa) and other j-fashions and just cute things in general. Plus, it actually turns out a lot cheaper to buy in bulk from other countries than it does to buy things in Australia most of the time orz;;

5. Okay, I admit I can't live without petticoats - even though I think they are the devil. They really do make the whole lolita silhouette when worn, and puff out the dress so it looks full and the prints or fabrics are in full show. I wear different shaped ones depending on the cut of the dress I'm wearing, and for conventions go all out and see how many I can wear without looking completely ridiculous !!

6. It's always nice to have cameras around. I definitely think taking pictures and documenting the fun times you have in lolita is something you can't live without. Also I like my selcas and derp photos and stuff nerrrr don't judge meeeeeeee.

7. Inspiration from other lolitas is such a big thing - I love looking through photos, blogs and journals to see how different people coordinate the same dress, and how it can be so versatile with creativity and different colour palettes.

8.  Angelic Pretty will forever be my number one favourite and I really think that I would definitely think differently about lolita fashion without it. I love all of their prints (well, almost all somebody please burn that "Dreamy Baby Room" monstrosity), especially the new sweet classic ranges that are coming out. I can't see myself really dressing in gothic or classic as my main style, but man I definitely appreciate the girls that pull it off so well.

I love you, Angelic Pretty~

9.  I definitely wouldn't be able to get by without support from family, friends and my boyfriend. Having a nice support network around you really makes a world of difference - especially when they are people close to you. My family was a bit like whattttttt at first, but now Mum even helps me do up my waist ties and gives feedback on my coordinates. My friends outside of lolita also like it and I get asked to wear it out when we all hang out together which makes me really happy. Oh, and Cathal now knows brand names, some print names and lolita jargon so I can talk to him freely about it and he understands - but he's also made up some stupid names for dresses and tells me I can't buy certain ones because "they're ugly", hahahhaha.

10. My community and meetups are a big part of me - if I didn't have these guys lolita wouldn't be much fun at all. I love always seeing them and meeting up doing various activities like swap meets, high teas, bowling and pizza nights and pyjama parties. I've met some of my closest friends through lolita and I'm just so happy mann.

Please let me know if you've started the challenge too, or what the things are that you couldn't live without n___n !!
